Southwest Regional EMO Regional Resilience Specialist

REGIONAL RESILIENCE SPECIALIST– JOB AD

THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Southwest Regional EMO is searching for a qualified and motivated individual who prioritizes safety and emergency response by providing leadership on resilience, emergency planning and regional coordination with the member partners. This individual will act as a “Regional Resilience Specialist” (aka Regional Emergency Measures Coordinator) and is responsible for overseeing, in partnership with the regional members, the process, development, delivery and evaluation of a resilience and emergency plan. The development of a consistent and streamline action plan is crucial to encourage the safety of civilians of the districts during instances of emergency situations.

Not far from urban centres, the Shaunavon & Gull Lake districts bestow wide open spaces, scenic landscapes and tight-knit communities for you to get in touch with nature and feel a sense of belonging.

Being in a rural area, collaboration and strong relationships are crucial to have amongst members for the safety of its civilians, which is why the Shaunavon and Gull Lake Districts have joined forces to create the Southwest Regional Emergency Response Organization. This organization’s vision is to prioritize the safety of its civilians by providing regional coordination for emergencies by ensuring the timely and streamline execution of an emergency response plan.

SCOPE:

The successful applicant will work flexible part-time hours to fulfill the duties associated with the role (guideline: up to 30 hours per week). A contractor position is preferred where the contractor will possess all supplies necessary to fulfill the role, including access to a vehicle, office space to execute duties, and any other technology required (considerations may be given to an employee position).
